30X24'' LANDSCAPE PAINTING, I painted this after a month long residency in San Francisco. This is the back yard in Lower Haight. This was our place we'd sit and hang out, talk and have coffee in the morning and vibes in the evening. It represents the center point of the month I spent there. The nuances, the detail and the feeling of being in a beautiful landscape even in the thick of a urban environment captivated me and gave me this incredible sense of space. In it's serenity this scene is as close to universal beauty as i can imagine. The interplay of what feels real vs what is stripped down is one of my favorite things about this piece. The reason I named it No Wasted Day, was because the day I painted this, it was a day of wasted time. As we get caught up in our day to day it's important to take those moments to pause. Realize the only way you waste time is by not being present while your moments are happening, too focused on what calamity has already happened. No matter how much time you feel you've already wasted, there's still potential for change and goodness.
